Chicago deep dish is not pizza in the conventional sense — it is an architectural achievement. They dress well — this is a city that makes an effort and it shows. Sharp, put together and stylish without the self consciousness that sometimes accompanies fashion in other cities. After work the city comes alive — happy hour is a genuine institution here, people spill out of offices and into bars and the social energy is warm, inclusive and completely infectious. 🍸

I love Chicago in spring, summer and fall. Deeply, genuinely love it.
Winter is a different conversation entirely. The Windy City is not a nickname — it is a warning. The wind chill off Lake Michigan is genuinely brutal and I speak from personal experience. I have been out in a Chicago winter dressed in so many layers I resembled Nanook of the North — running from building to building, completely unable to appreciate the city I love because my face had stopped working. 😅
So — spring, summer or fall. Non negotiable.
