Burning Man Escort — The Most Extreme FMTY You'll Ever Book 🔥

Let me be upfront with you: this is not your typical FMTY post.

This isn't Jackson Hole for a ski weekend or Scottsdale for golf. This is a week in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada with no cell service, no money, no running water, no shade, and no escape. Whiteout dust storms that turn day into night in seconds. Flash floods that turn the playa into a mud lake and strand 70,000 people. Temperatures that swing from scorching desert heat to freezing cold overnight.

Burning Man is the most extraordinary experience on earth. It is also absolutely not for everyone.

If you're still reading — good. Let's talk.

Who Am I at Burning Man?

I have attended Burning Man six times. I hit it during what many veteran Burners consider its peak era — before it grew so large that the magic started to dilute. I've watched it change, and I still think it's one of the most remarkable places a human being can spend a week. There is simply nothing like it anywhere in the world.

My credentials:

The year I won the Burning Man fashion show costume contest - and inspired an animated character. 😄

2014 — I won the Burning Man fashion show costume contest as Hindu Goddess Kali. Six arms. Painted blue. Full regalia. A few months later, The Simpsons aired their Burning Man episode — "Blazed and Confused," Season 26. Walking across the playa in the background? A six-armed blue woman. The Simpsons writers are well-known Burning Man regulars. Draw your own conclusions. 🌈

Coincidence? The Simpsons writers are known Burning Man regulars. I'm just saying. 😄

2019 — The theme was Metamorphoses. I wore giant butterfly wings at sunset on the playa. I have the photo. It looks exactly like you're imagining.

Every year I attended — I rode my custom-designed red low-rider chopper bicycle, complete

with spoke lights and full LED lighting for night riding. It is, without false modesty, one of the coolest bikes on the playa. I added pedal assist because even a goddess needs a little help crossing the desert. 🚴

My night costume — designed and built piece by piece over multiple years, each component added until the full vision was complete:

Built piece by piece. Every component runs on 9-volt batteries. Worth every one of them. 🦋✨
  • Giant rainbow LED butterfly wings

  • A spiral LED bra with a hypnotic flashing pattern (yes, really)

  • Giant Elton John-style platform boots with rainbow LEDs — adding several very welcome inches to my petite frame

  • Flashing LED bow tie

  • Flashing LED top hat

  • Fishnets

Every piece runs on 9-volt batteries. Managing a full LED light show through a desert dust storm is its own kind of adventure. 🦋

My last Burning Man was 2019 — the year before COVID. I am very glad I missed 2023, when catastrophic rains turned the playa into a mud lake and stranded tens of thousands of people for days. Some things are worth sitting out.

What Burning Man Actually Is

For the uninitiated: Burning Man is an annual week-long event in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada, built around radical self-expression, self-reliance, and community. It ends with the ceremonial burning of a massive wooden effigy — the Man — and a temple burn that is one of the most emotionally powerful things you will ever witness.

There are no transactions. No money changes hands. Everything is gifted. The art installations are some of the most extraordinary creative works you will ever see in your life. You will meet scientists, artists, CEOs, musicians, philosophers, and people who defy every category you've ever put a human being in.

You will also survive dust storms, sleep deprivation, extreme temperatures, and the particular chaos of 70,000 people committed to having the most intense week of their lives.

It has changed significantly as it has grown. But it is still unlike anything else on earth.

What You're Actually Signing Up For

I want to be honest with you because I respect your time and mine.

Logistics you need to handle:

  • An RV is non-negotiable. You cannot do Burning Man without one. Tent camping in the Black Rock Desert is survivable but not enjoyable, especially if you want to sleep. The RV is your sanctuary, your charging station, and your refuge when a whiteout dust storm rolls in at 3am.

  • Tickets are notoriously difficult to obtain. The main sale sells out in minutes. There are waitlists, lotteries and secondary markets. Planning starts months in advance — not weeks.

  • Everything must be brought in. Food, water, supplies, costumes, bikes, everything. Nothing is available for purchase on the playa.

  • Cell service essentially doesn't exist. This is a feature, not a bug. No cell phones means people are 100% present — genuinely, beautifully, completely present with each other and the experience. In a world where everyone is staring at a screen, it's one of the most refreshing things you'll ever experience. That said, it does mean we are genuinely off the grid for the week.

The weather is genuinely unpredictable:

  • Whiteout dust storms with zero visibility

  • Flash flooding (see: 2023)

  • Extreme desert heat during the day

  • Surprisingly cold nights

  • All of the above potentially in the same 24 hours

You will be stuck with me for an entire week. This sounds wonderful until you remember that we haven't spent an entire day together yet. Which brings me to the most important part of this post.

Why I Won't Go With Just Anyone

I would need to meet you first — properly. A full day together minimum, not just a coffee or a quick dinner. A genuine, extended date where we can truly assess whether spending seven days in the desert together sounds like heaven or a cautionary tale.

Burning Man is intimate in a way that no other FMTY arrangement is. There is no hotel to retreat to. There is no "I'll see you tomorrow." It is you, me, an RV, and 70,000 strangers for seven days. The chemistry has to be genuinely right. The compatibility has to be real. The vibe has to be effortless.

I've been doing this long enough to know that you can tell within a few hours whether a week together would be wonderful or an endurance test. I'd rather know before we're both committed to the Black Rock Desert with no exit option.

The Timeline

Burning Man requires serious planning. This is not a two-week notice situation.

Ideally: several months notice minimum. Tickets, RV rental, logistics, supplies, costumes — all of it takes time. If you're thinking about Burning Man 2026, the conversation needs to start now.

Minimum notice I'd consider: one month — and even that is tight for the logistics involved.

Who This Is For

The right person for this adventure:

✅ Has attended Burning Man before — or is genuinely prepared for what it involves ✅ Is adventurous, adaptable and genuinely comfortable with the unpredictable ✅ Has a sense of humor about dust storms, mud, sleep deprivation and chaos ✅ Is self-reliant and doesn't need to be managed ✅ Can handle a week of genuine off-grid living without complaint ✅ Has the logistical capacity to handle RV rental, tickets and supplies ✅ Wants a genuine adventure with a genuine companion — not a performance

This is not for the faint-hearted, the inflexible, or anyone who has ever complained about a hotel room being slightly too small. 😄

Why It's Worth It

Because there is nothing like it.

The art installations will stop you in your tracks. The community will restore your faith in human creativity. The temple burn will make you cry whether you expect it to or not. The music is everywhere and it's extraordinary. The people you meet will stay with you for years.

And doing all of it with the right companion — someone who matches your energy, shares your sense of wonder, and can laugh with you when the dust storm hits at 3am — is genuinely one of the great experiences a person can have.

I know because I've had it. Six times.

If you think you might be that person — let's start with a date and see where it goes. 🔥
