French Riviera Escort — Nude Beaches, Stolen Luggage and a Medieval Castle Full of Ghosts 👻

Alex - French Riviera Escort Beach Handstand
The French Riviera stole my luggage. I responded with a handstand. 🤸‍♀️😄

The French Riviera has a way of humbling you immediately upon arrival.

My carry-on luggage was stolen in Nice. Right there at the start — before the glamour, before the rosé, before any of the extraordinary things the Côte d'Azur had waiting. Just gone. The French Riviera looked me in the eye, took my luggage and said — welcome. Adjust your expectations. 😄

I adjusted. And then I fell completely in love.

Nice — Where the Adventure Begins 🌊

Nice is the gateway to the French Riviera and one of those cities that rewards the moment you stop fighting it and simply surrender to its pace. The Promenade des Anglais, the old town, the markets — it has a warmth and a chaos that is entirely its own.

Arrive with your valuables close. Learn from my experience.

The Drive 🚗

Here is something nobody tells you about the French Riviera — the drive between Nice, Cannes, Monaco and Saint-Tropez is one of the most spectacularly beautiful and navigationally confusing experiences of your life. Winding coastal roads, medieval villages perched impossibly on clifftops, the Mediterranean glittering below at every turn.

GPS is non-negotiable. And even then — good luck. The streets have their own agenda entirely. Give yourself extra time for when you get lost or miss that turn. Because you will. 😉

But the drive is worth every wrong turn. Pull over when something catches your eye. It always will. And give yourself extra time for when you get lost or miss that turn.

Château Eza — Where the Dreams Get Interesting 🏰

Perched on the highest peak of the village of Èze — a medieval village so dramatically situated it feels like something from a fairy tale — is Château Eza. A castle turned luxury hotel clinging to the clifftop above the Mediterranean, with views so extraordinary they feel slightly unreal.

I had ghost dreams there. Vivid, specific, slightly unsettling ghost dreams. Whether that says something about the hotel's centuries of history or simply about what happens when you sleep in a medieval castle 1,400 feet above the sea — I leave that to you to decide. 👻

I would absolutely go back. The ghost dreams were honestly some of the more interesting sleep I've had. 💤

Saint-Tropez — The One That Stole My Heart 🌅

Saint-Tropez is everything the French Riviera promises and then some.

The harbor, the people watching, the beaches, the restaurants — the entire effortless, sun-drenched, slightly ridiculous glamour of it. Superyachts in the harbor. Beautiful people at every café. The kind of place where nobody seems to be in a hurry and everyone seems to be having an extraordinary time.

I went to a nude beach in Saint-Tropez. This is true. I will say only this — the human body is a wonderful thing and nudism is a perfectly valid lifestyle choice. However. The particular beach I visited was not quite the glamorous Riviera experience I had perhaps imagined. Some sights, once seen, cannot be unseen. 🤣

The restaurants more than compensated. Saint-Tropez feeds you extraordinarily well and I have zero complaints about any meal I had there.

Hotel du Cap-Eden Roc — One of My Favorite Hotels in the World 🥂

There are hotels and then there is Hotel du Cap-Eden Roc.

Perched on the cliffs of Cap d'Antibes, this legendary property has hosted everyone from F. Scott Fitzgerald to every film star who has ever attended the Cannes Film Festival. The cliffside restaurant has the most amazing ocean views I have ever experienced at a table — impossibly blue water below, perfect sky above, food and wine worthy of every single bit of it.

I also spent time at the famous pool — the iconic swimming platform suspended above the Mediterranean that has appeared in more glamorous photographs than almost anywhere else on earth. The people watching from that pool alone is worth the visit. I may or may not have sat next to a very famous model from the 1980s at the restaurant. Discretion is my brand. 🤫

If you visit the French Riviera and skip a visit to Hotel du Cap-Eden Roc, you are definitely missing out.

Cannes 🎬

Cannes has a particular energy — glamorous, cinematic, slightly self-aware about how glamorous and cinematic it is. The Croisette, the film festival hotels, the beach clubs. It earns its reputation entirely.

And then Monaco is just down the road — which you already know from my Monaco blog, complete with Jimmy'z and the superyachts and the impossibly preserved vintage Ferraris at crosswalks. 🏎️

The French Riviera With the Right Companion

The Côte d'Azur rewards curiosity, flexibility and a genuine sense of humor about things going slightly sideways. Stolen luggage. Ghost dreams. Nude beaches with suboptimal attendance. 👙

The right companion for the French Riviera isn't someone who needs everything to be perfect. She's someone who can lose her carry-on in Nice, laugh about it by lunch and still find herself completely enchanted by everything the day brings.

That's exactly who I am. 😊
